Eat, Stay & Play at Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca, Mexico

Getting There

Teotitlán del Valle, is located 15 miles from the art-rich city of Oaxaca in South East Mexico. The capital city of Oaxaca is 45 minutes south of Mexico City by air or 6 hours by bus or car.

Stay

  • Casa Sagrada
This 12-room hilltop hacienda features a panoramic view of the textile rich city of Teotitlán del Valle. This home in the country has a warm sophistication with adobe walls and rustic pine beams. There are hand-loomed textiles, original art and Mexican antiques from the owner’s personal collection.

  • Rug Weavers of Teotitlán del Valle
I like this website because it has a video of a traditional festival called the "Baile de los Viejos."
  • Yagul Archeological Site
This pre-Columbian archeological zone contains the largest ballcourt in the Oaxaca Valley, and the second largest in all of Mesoamerica.  It is a peaceful and relaxing place for contemplation.
